Description
The Aragonese Castle, the most impressive historical monument of Ischia, stands on a volcanic rock connected to the island by a bridge build in 1438 by Alfonso di Aragona. The castle became a political, cultural and spiritual centre of notable interest during Aragonese dynasty. This unique location contains three holiday apartments and a small hotel. A lift connects the entrance of the castle to the top, approx 80 m above sea level, where apartments are situated.

The interior
Each apartment has its own independent entrance through an ancient courtyard. The three units have been recently renovated. All have windows and outdoor spaces with unforgettable views. Apartments guest enjoy many hotel services including porter and concierge services and hotel terrace dining.
CAMPANILE sleeps 4 in 1 double bedroom with AC, 1 twin with AC, 2 bathrooms, large living room with kitchenette and panoramic terrace with outdoor finishing.
CANONICA MAGGIORE sleeps 2 in one living room with double bed and sofa, kitchenette, bathroom
CANONICA MINORE 1 living room with double bed and fitted kitchen separated off in a niche, 1 bathroom and panoramic balcony.
This property is not suitable to people with walking difficulties. The castle is perched above the water therefore could be dangerous for children that have to be under adult supervision.
The entire Castello can itself sleeps 40 people and can be rented for weddings and other special events.

Facilities and included services
Air condition is available only in Campanile unit. The price includes from Easter to the end of October standard first dinner included at the restaurant of the hotel. Ischia is a little island and it could be a problem, during the high season, to bring your own car both for going around but specially for parking. Frequent buses as well as taxi service make easy to get around.
For this reason we higly recommend to pre book a tranfer that is not included in the price but will solve many problems to the guests! The concierge service at the hotel is also available. When two units are rented together is possible to get a discount: please ask for more detailed information.

The surrounding area
The castle sits on the island of Ischia at the northern entrance to the Bay of Naples just an hour away from the mainland by ferry. On the island there are many activities and things to do: water sports, sunbathing and swimming one of the sun drenched beaches and geological expeditions around the island. In addition, it is worth knowing that Ischia has many hot thermal mineral springs of which Negombo is highly recommended.
Whilst on the island, you can also go for a cruise and spend a day fishing followed by dinner – perhaps with the fish you caught. You can also visit some of the many wineries on the island and taste some of the fine wines they produce. The island also has a number of museums waiting for you to explore them. Situated in the Bay of Naples, the villa is the perfect starting point for visits to some Italy’s most beautiful sites: Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Pompei, Herculaneum, Procida and last, but by no means least, Naples.
