Description
CASA DAPHNE is an old fisherman’s home that has been converted into holiday apartments. The villa sits right on the northern shore of Lake Como, overlooking breathtaking scenery and close to the small holiday town of San Siro. The house is equipped with a Jacuzzi, sauna and a barbeque area. Access to the villa is via a 250 meter long passageway with many steps. Because of this, the villa is not suitable for guests with mobility problems. A porter can be arranged to carry your luggage on arrival and departure.

The interior
Casa Daphne is 130 sqm and it consists of two, not connected parts, each with independnet entrance.
A nice studio flat with double bed, kitchenette, bathroom, lovely terrace with lake view is located on the ground floor.
The main house has three levels. On the first one there are dining room, fully equipped kitchen with acces to an outdoor terrace.
Upstairs: living room, one bathroom with jacuzzi, one double en suite bedroom.
On the top floor there are one double en suite bedroom and a lofted area with two additional twin beds (ideal for kids).
Sauna and washing machine in the basement.

Facilities and included services
The renting price for this property includes a final cleaning service, an extra cleaning service 2 hours on Monday and Wednesday, one extra change of bath linen. Heating is included. Cellular phone is available (please pre book). ADSL internet access available.

 
The surrounding area
Lake Como is one of the preferred tourist areas due, in large part, to the luscious vegetation surrounding the lake and the mild weather the area enjoys for most of the year. Around the lake are many luxurious villas and some enchanting towns and villages such as Tramezzo which is close to the villa and Bellagio and Varenna on the other side of the lake and which can be reached via the ferry service.
Bellagio is called the “pearl of the lake” and is considered the most beautiful of all the towns in the area. In the town of Como you can visit the Cathedral of Piazza San Fedele with its Basilica. Just to the north of Como is Cemobbio where you can visit the Hotel Villa d’Este whose rooms are so elegant and luxurious that they look like an exhibit from a museum. Even further north is the township of Toriggia where you can visit Villa Passalaqua. In the middle of Lake Como is the island of Isola Comacina. If you are in Como on the 24th of June, take a trip out to the Island in the evening. The 24th is a holy day for John the Baptist and is celebrated with processions and firework displays.
Guests at the villa have a variety of choices when it comes to finding things to do. You can hire a bicycle and pedal over to the golf club, go horseback riding, take a motorboat from Menaggio (just a 10 minute drive from the villa) and more. There is a pizza parlor just 10 minutes from the villa and just two kilometers further on, shops, restaurants and coffee shops.
